Apple butter hand pies with a maple syrup glaze!
Can I get a slow motion hand clap for whatever beautiful soul created apple butter?
Hi, it’s Lauren! I think I might be the very last person on the planet to hop on the apple butter train, but better late than never, right? Have ya’ll tried it? I’m sorry but when I get excited about something I turn into a southern woman, I can’t help it.
I had apple butter for the very first time last week, and now I’m eating it almost every day of the week. I love love love it on toast in the morning. And would it be crazy if I cut up apples and then dipped them in the apple butter? Is that excessive?
The fact that I love it so much got me thinking of different things that I could bake with it, and that’s how these apple butter hand pies were born. The apple butter I used was purchased at a local farm, but it can be found at most grocery stores.
You may remember our mini heart apple pies from last year, so as you know, we are suckers for miniature versions of other things. We had no other option than to make these pies small and adorable. It would’ve been a crime not too.
But what makes these little pies even harder to resist is the maple syrup glaze on top. Yeah, that’s right I said it. MAPLE SYRUP GLAZE. Maple syrup is the sticky goo that dreams are made of. Feel free to use that as your slogan, syrup makers. Free of charge.
You can use a circle cookie cutter to cut the pie dough, or if you don’t have one you can use the top of a glass.
If you are a fan of apple butter, then we think you’re going to love these!
