Do you own a mug and are also craving a chocolate chip cookie? We got you.
We have all been there. You are sitting around doing nothing, so naturally your brain thinks you are hungry, when really you are just bored to death. Therefore, you start craving anything and everything because eating gives you something to do. Chocolate chip cookies often cross your mind. However, you do not have the ambition and maybe not even enough ingredients to make an entire batch of cookies. Maybe you live alone, so you don’t need 34 cookies. You really only need like..1. You also want that cookie and you want it NOW!
Well, we have just the recipe for you. We recently discovered how to make mug desserts. You put a few ingredients in a mug, put the mug in the microwave and then magically out comes dessert. It’s pretty much amazing. Not going to lie, I have been making this mug cookie pretty much every night. It is just so fast and easy and really really good. Mug desserts are awesome for so many reasons. Let me count the reasons.
One: They allow you to make a single serving dessert. No need to waste time and ingredients making an entire batch of cookies when you only want one. This also helps stop you from binge eating. If you make an entire batch of cookies, chances are you are going to eat one. And then another one. Annnnd then another one. Until all you are left with is a pile of crumbs and a large amount of shame.
Two: You probably already have all the ingredients you need. Especially since you only need a small amount of each thing.
Three: Man, they fast. Put it in the microwave for 1 minute and you have your dessert.
Your craving gets taken care of real fast.
You can make these cookies in either a mug or a ramekin. I prefer using a ramekin, just because they are literally the perfect size for this dessert.
Here is a link where you can buy ramekins similar to the ones we used!
The most important thing about mug desserts in my opinion has got to be the fact that you literally only dirty like 3 things. Your mug, a couple measuring scoops, and a spoon.
If you’re like me, the one thing you absolutely HATE about baking is having to do all the dishes after. I try to use as few tools as possible when baking or cooking anything specifically for that reason, however the sink is always overflowing at the end of it all.
Personally, I only microwave mine for 1 minute. Exactly 1 minute. No more, no less. This makes the cookie warm, gooey, and border line under baked. Just how I like it! If you want your cookie to be more cooked, just leave it in longer. Not much longer though. I would say only another few seconds. They can get overdone pretty quick.
So, the next time you are craving something sweet give this mug cookie a try! You will not regret it.
Update: if you’re having a beyond crappy day, you can double this recipe and create one mega mug cookie. Lindsay tested. Lindsay approved.
