Warning: If you don’t like chocolate, then quick, look away!
On the other hand, if you are a chocolate fiend like us, then stick around because you’re going to love this! The only thing about these cupcakes that isn’t chocolate is the paper liner they are sitting in, and that is just the way we like it. Basically, if you are looking for a dessert that is as chocolaty as can be, then alas! You found it! Chocolate on chocolate drizzled with more chocolate-really good for the soul, not so good for the hips. But, that’s okay.
Because I apparently did not think that I was consuming quite enough chocolate in one sitting, last night I ate one of these cupcakes with a mountain of chocolate ice cream on top. And I mean it when I say mountain. My embarrassingly large bowl could barely contain it. I knew it wasn’t the best idea, but let’s be real, I did it anyway. Story of my life. My autobiography is going to be called “Probably shouldn’t do that. Probably going to anyway.” Sure, I wanted to crawl into a hole and die for about an hour afterwards, but my soul was happy, and that is the most important thing, right?
I don’t know what Forrest Gump was talking about. “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.”
No no no. You know exactly what you’re going to get. A stomach ache and a brief spell of self loathing. But you eat the chocolate anyway. And you wanna know why? Because it is damn delicious.
Sometimes you just NEED chocolate. Chocolate fills the cracks of the heart way better than any Katherine Heigl romantic comedy ever could. I’m pretty sure that is an actual fact. You can Google it if you don’t believe me.
We drizzled these cupcakes with chocolate ganashe, but that is completely optional. We just love a good drizzle! We cannot be stopped!
