Ice cream is one of those things that immediately brings joy. Kids love it. Adults love it. Dogs love it. We love it so much we used to work at an ice cream shop! It was the best job but we were the worst employees. We would eat ice cream non stop our whole shift. We convinced ourselves we were just taste testing. But let’s be honest, we were stuck in a room with ice cream everywhere you looked for 6 hours a day. It was hard to resist eating it. All day.
I personally would also take it upon myself to change people’s orders just because I thought they made a bad choice. You want chocolate syrup on your sundae? No. You want hot fudge.
“This doesn’t taste like chocolate syrup” they would say as they walked away.
No, ice cream eating stranger, it doesn’t. IT TASTES WAY BETTER. You’re welcome.
Alternatively I would also always forget to put the flavoring in the milkshakes. So customers were essentially just getting blended up ice cream with no milkshake flavoring. My bad.
We live in an ice cream loving household. If we buy a carton of ice cream it’s gone within two days. Most people just buy their ice cream at the store or take a trip to the local ice cream shop. Some people make their own ice cream with an ice cream maker. We have an ice cream maker. We never use it. Ever. It sits nicely on a shelf in the closet. Don’t get me wrong, it is nice. It works. Does a good job at making ice cream. It is just kind of one of those machines that you use a ton when you first get it, but eventually you just stop.
Most people don’t own ice cream makers. They are also a little bit pricey. Therefore we wanted to make a no churn ice cream that anyone could make because the only tool you need is a mixer of some sort! You also don’t need a whole lot of ingredients. You might even already have everything you need for the ice cream base!
The base of no churn ice cream is just 2 cups of heavy cream, 1-14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk and 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract! That is all! From there you can add anything you want. The full recipe for this ice cream can be found below but this is the base if you wanted to make a different kind.
We recommend storing your ice cream in a bread pan. It is the perfect size. However, you can break it up into smaller containers if you want. You will want to store the ice cream in the freezer overnight to ensure that it has time to harden up.
This ice cream is seriously so good. You will feel like you are indulging in something that you so very much deserve. So eat a big bowl, and then when you’re done eat some more.
