Christmas shopping is in full swing over here, and nothing helps calm the “I spent how much money?!” anxiety like a big warm mug of Nutella hot chocolate.
First off, Lindsay here. I feel like I haven’t shown a foster dog in a while! Not sure if anyone actually cares about seeing them, but I am going to show them anyway! Here was the latest addition. Her name is Rosie and she is a beagle/weiner dog mix. (That is the very technical name for her type of breed.) Don’t get me wrong, I love every single one of my foster babies but this little cutie will always have a special place in my heart. She was the sweetest little thing. She needed constant attention and I wanted to constantly give it to her. She is at her new shelter in Canada and I know she will get adopted in no time, but oh my heart, I miss her!
Don’t you just want to squeeze her little face and tell her how cute she is?!
Ok. We can talk about hot chocolate now.
After I had to give Rosie back and I was wallowing in sadness, I made some of this hot chocolate to warm me up and lift my spirits. It isn’t as warm and fuzzy as a puppy, but it sure does make you feel good inside. After all, it has Nutella in it, and Nutella is clinically proven to fill all of the holes inside your heart. Just trust me. No need to Google that fact.
Hot Chocolate from scratch will change your winter beverage life. It may seem like a hassle to go out of your way to make hot chocolate from scratch, but it’s actually pretty quick to do!
Just heat the milk up and stir in the rest of the ingredients. Done. Well…top it with an obnoxious amount of other delicious toppings and then DONE.
We used homemade whipped cream and chocolate ganache because we ALWAYS have some on hand. We also added mini marshmallows. Would it even be hot chocolate if we didn’t invite marshmallows to the party?
Treat yo’ self.
