Our go-to Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie for busy mornings.
Hi, it’s Lauren! It’s our first ever smoothie recipe! Are you excited? Because I’m excited. Mostly because I am obsessed with this smoothie and have been making it ALL THE TIME. I may or may not be drinking it right now as I write this.
I’ve always kind of had a love/hate relationship with smoothies. I love drinking them, but making them was too much of a hassle. It was just too many steps and I couldn’t be bothered, especially when I am already chronically rushing to be on time EVERY MORNING.
However, I have found the smoothie of my dreams that makes all of the effort worth it. Throw everything in your Blender, grab a handful of Half Loaded Granola, and it’s the perfect breakfast when you are on-the-go.
I have been making this smoothie regularly for breakfast, and bringing it to work. But, I will also make it sometimes on the weekends in between lunch and dinner if I feel like I need something to keep me alive until I’m fed real food again.
I like to put a big ol’ scoop of protein powder in mine because I want it to make me feel fuller longer. I don’t want to drink this for breakfast and then have my stomach growling 20 minutes later. I like to switch it up, so sometimes I’ll use vanilla protein powder and other times I’ll use chocolate. Both are delicious! But, the powder isn’t necessary for this recipe, so leave it out if you don’t have/want it in there.
I also don’t use any ice in this smoothie. If you use frozen bananas they work perfectly and keep your smoothie nice and cold without watering it down.
**Tip: Keep a bag of pre-sliced bananas in the freezer so they are ready to go when you want to use them.
But, if you don’t have bananas that are already frozen you can add a little bit of ice instead.
